Our friend Sandra is an exceptional woman. Always generous and genuinely interested in everyone she meets, her circle of influence and care is wide and deep. Many of us were saddened to hear of Sandra’s diagnosis of breast cancer this past summer, and have been amazed but not surprised at the gracious way she has approached every obstacle brought her way by this new chapter of her life.
One practical aspect of Sandra’s diagnosis and treatment is that she has been seriously limited in her ability to continue to earn income in her chosen profession as photographer due to limited mobility in her right arm after surgery and subsequent treatment. It it with great delight that we, her friends, are able to help meet some of her financial needs by teaming a fundraiser for Sandra with a birthday party for our lovely friend. All those of us who know her well are so glad she was born, and we’re eager to offer her support that we may bless her return to complete health so we can see her dance on many, many more birthdays to come.
Truly Beautiful Evening
Thanks so much to everyone who participated in making Sandra’s birthday party and fund raiser such a massive success.
As of today, we’ve now seen over $13,000 come in to help her with her living expenses as she continues with her cancer treatment.
The effect of the generosity that has been poured out to her has been growing and growing – we’ve seen so many people touched by this event and wanting to still participate and give. If you’re one of those people you can find out how to give to Sandra here.
We were thrilled to have CTV run a story on the event and the auction for Wade’s dreadlocks, which you can see by clicking here.
Thanks again to all of our event sponsors, volunteers and friends. This has been a dream (well, several dreams!) come true.
